Thermodynamic Analysis of a New Combined Cooling and Power System Coupled by the Kalina Cycle and Ammonia–Water Absorption Refrigeration Cycle

In order to improve the utilization efficiency of low-temperature heat sources, a new combined cooling and power system using ammonia–water is proposed. The combines Kalina cycle with absorption refrigeration cycle, in which waste serves as source cycle. steady-state mathematical model established detail first, then simulation results design condition are obtained, show that thermal exergy can reach 24.62% 11.52%, respectively. Based on condition, an destruction analysis conducted shows four exchangers turbine contribute most total destruction. Finally, effects five key parameters performance examined, reveal within certain ranges, there optimal inlet pressure makes maximal. Increasing temperature at vapor generator outlet ammonia-weak solution bottom rectification column will reduce but raise efficiency. With increase pressure, both drop, while evaporation has opposite effect performance.
